While I personally think these videos belong on Youtube, I somehow found myself sitting through this entire thing. So, maybe I am in the wrong there.

My take on the issue, and following up on similar things pointed out in the last 2 minutes of the video. Is people interjecting cringy fan content and shattering your perfect/pure perspective of what you are are worshiping/hating. I personally think Undertale fandom became toxic just because of all the creepy obsessions that revolved around the characters. I'd elaborate but this ain't the place for that.

Despite the basic artwork, the quality in the presentation and relevant personal stories you and your friend put into this redeemed it. Good job.

Onemanshowoff responds:

Hey at least it's 90% drawn
And I put it here cause Youtube can stink but at least it's mostly animated.
And as for creepy people, I think as long as they don't actually do harmful shit I don't care if they want Sans to do everything to them

Man.. that was a massive trip. I am at a loss for words.

Shi-Gu responds:

I'm glad, I kinda wanted it to be trippy haha

This movie goes to show that even with basic art, good animation and presentation can still make a quality submission. Interesting touch with the blur/filter (or that's how I would describe it), it really helped the loose and simple character and environment designs blend together. Turning glaring sharp lines into pleasant looking silhouettes.

I'm one of those few people that doesn't know much about Fortnite, although I didn't understand some of the stuff in this, I feel like I didn't need too in order to appreciate the action in front of me.

You definitely found a way of making something ordinary, seem extraordinary. Good job.

bucketboi responds:

Thanks for that comment truly appreciated, glad that you enjoyed it

Wow, Stop motion animations of this quality are rare in this portion of the internet. I could almost compare it to the earlier works of Laika or Aardman animation studios (The guys that make movies like Coraline or Wallace and Gromit).

As for the animation itself, the quality of your puppets and backgrounds certainly paid off with an immersive amount of detail. My only major complaint is the lip sync seemed kind of off at times, like the guards speech would sometimes begin before his mouth even moved. My suggestion to fix this would to try adding a slight movement in the mouth just before a character begins to speak; that might make your lip syncing seem more natural and fluid.

Although the amount of length and action seemed rather short lived, the fact that your doing such work.. BY YOURSELF, makes it seem rather unfair for me to complain about that.

JeffLafferty responds:

Thanks, I'll work on the lip sync for the next one. I appreciate the feedback.

Holy crap my brain... I haven't felt like this mind f*@ked since black swan and dead space 2.... You did an amazing job with the animation and artwork despite being on a crunch time.

Ever since Skin: A pixel nightmare, I had a hunch this was all about an abortion or miscarriage. All the pieces of the story are together now, but god damn the ride was jarring on my sanity.. I have no idea how you managed to stay in one piece while making this whole thing.

The only thing that bugged me was that this feels like it ended on a cliff hanger, can't stop thinking if there's more or its legitimately ended.

Your series is one of a kind, enjoyed it every step of the way.

ClockworkPixel responds:

Thank you very much :). Well if i'm honest I feel if there was gonna be another it would have to be an actual game and i feel that kind of has to be a thing since it is a game but i cant promise ill make a game or if i do if it will continue roses, jade and karlas story. What im saying is i kind of left it open so i'm able to go back to it if i want to in the future

Ahhh Ragnarok Online... Good times indeed...

Although I certainly got the point of this video, some viewers might not understand the point since sometimes the movie is a bit unclear, regardless if they even know about RO or not. Namely being when the novice went to pick up the loot, he freaked out.. yet were never shown why. Only real complaint on my end.

cassetevoador responds:

thanks for the comment! not everyone will understand :D

I was expecting something lame.. but I was proven wrong. Loved the punchline, got a good laugh outta that.

Art and animation were good enough to keep my attention, and the length and progression were at the right balance. (didn't drag anything out and seemed like you got everything you wanted in with not much rush)

you got potential, keep exploring it

Valiast responds:

Thanks, I will! :)

Why beg to avoid a blam?

This submission seems to have enough to stand on its own. The fact you put some effort into putting in some decent artwork and a bit of animation (even though it was mostly tweens) shows that you actually tried to make something worth the time.

What made this movie bland though was the fact there was no real twist, it just a redone version of a announcement. Thats just my guess though, if it was original, I take this statement back.

However, with content aside, this movies acceptable. If you improve on your animation and learn to work outside of tweening. I bet you'll do a lot better, keep in mind though that theres more to making movies then just profiting from ads.

TheRealNat23 responds:

It actually was a redone version of an announcement, and my recent cartoons are MUCH better than this BTW. I even do more FBF work now too. Thanks!

Looks decent

With the amount of length put into this movie, I can see why this took as long as it did, the movie seems pretty interesting, although the artwork is kinda odd, it seems to have a form of expression to it, can't really describe it. This appears to the start of something that has a lot of potential.

My only opinion on what should be improved on is the pacing of the movie, some scenes between the middle and the ending seemed to go a bit too fast to get a full grip of what was going on, so maybe decreasing the frame rate slightly at moments might make it better, just my opinon though.

Hope too see more.

Skaijo responds:

Actually it's the denouement of something that may have a lot of potential. This art style was great, but it inflates the file size pretty badly. I was fighting pretty hard just to keep this animation under 30 MB. I'd like to try an art style of BG's similar to Icycle--that video game that's on the front page right now. I found that especially attractive.

A tad too predictable

I saw the punchline in this movie coming from a mile away... Although the animation and drawings were really well done, the action was far too short to really enjoy. You might also want to work on the sound effects for the footsteps, sounds nothing like walking AT all.

Overall its ok, but not perfect.

DieterTheuns responds:

Most sound effects, including the footsteps were taken from internet though. I swear to God that was the best one out there : (

Thanks for the great review. ^^
